Cinemas around Langdon Hills

Cineworld Cinema - Basildon

Festival Leisure Park, Basildon SS14 3WB, UK – 0871 200 2000

Just seen terminator 2 remastered in 3d and the Cinema looks fantastic with the make over. Unfortunately there system for booking tickets is appalling. We booked tickets online approximately 6 weeks ago for this and with my partner not being well for the past 2 years going out together is a very rarity. Our tickets was scanned and we was told U10 and U11. When i looked at the email confirmation it said m10 and m11. A member of staff said sit where the email said so we did. 5 mins later a group of 4 turned up and said hello your in our seats. I showed them my email and they went. A few minutes later a member of staff asked to look at the ticket to which he walked off and another staff member came and said sorry but due to us changing the screen we would have to sit at u10 and u11. This isn't our problem and how do they think they could change this. I spoke to a manager after the film finished about this and didn't seem to be very cooperative. Shame that the staff let a nice cinema like this down.

I'm a regular cinema goer and have visited Basildon since it was the Empire Odeon. Prices are going up no doubt to cover the extensive refurbishments and now the so called 'saver day' Tuesday is now just shy of £6! (use to be £3.50 a few years ago). Yes many types of screen to choose and the refurbs do look good but you'll need to re-morgage on a family visit :). Just seen Murder on the Orient Express in screen 3 and it was freezing, some staff (not all) could be a bit more cheery. Worth a visit though.

Festival Leisure Park

Festival Way, Basildon SS14 3WB, UK – 01268 330599

A great variety of places to eat and a good cinema complex. Hotels on site but not tried them yet. Aroma is a great place for all you can eat Chinese buffet. Good value.

Oh yes, this is a great place for good food and movies... oh and wake boarding should that be your thing, but overall it's well kept and recently renovated to look so much better... Iam always here and will always come.

Theatres for Langdon Hills

Towngate Theatre

St. Martins Square, Basildon SS14 1DL, UK – 01268 465465

Had a great time watching our daughter in a performance. The theatre is actually very nice inside. They have a bar which has a good selection of drinks and snacks. The bar takes cash and card (incl contactless) payments. All the facilities are clean and tidy. I would be happy to go again.

Juat saw the excellent Creeds Cross there. Good venue, friendly staff and easy to access. The acoustics where they put on the shows could use looking at, but qn enjoyable experiemce.
