The food itself is fine but I just feel that there was a slight lack of choice. Quite a big seafood section but if you don't like seafood then the rest lacks variety for me. Although have to say the desserts are incredible and the choice is great, so many to choose from and really like the fact they have a whippy ice cream machine.
Excellent selection of dishes if you like Chinese buffets, regularly replenished with a first class cooking station. Desserts deserve a mention too, plenty of choice and there is even a western style counter with items for children such a burgers etc. Very good value albeit simple and unpretentious.

Friendly courteous service and usually reasonably quickly considering the size/volume and number of diners. Food is reasonably priced for a pub chain with good quality. Drinks are also reasonable.
Very accomodating, astounding service. As big fans of the Beefeater franchise, my family has been going to them for decades now. The Haywain is easily the best one out of the lot that we have ever been there. Never have we had poor service, and if the slightest thing is wrong you actually can tell that the staff really are sorry about it - compared to a lot of places where it's obvious they're saying it just because they have to. This is a meeting point for myself and some of my family. So every time we spend at least 2 hours in the restaurant, and never have we been rushed or hurried out of there. We have two very fussy people in our group, and more often than not they are quite demanding, everything must be their exact way. Most restaurants you can tell absolutely loathes them two, but this is the first restaurant a waiter has assured them that they are allowed to be as fussy as they please. We even had a time where a young child in our group was sick all over the table, and they moved us with no problems. Then I knocked over a bottle of wine causing another clean up and relocation. Instead of looking annoyed, our waitress laughed and said we've broken a new record. She really made us feel okay about the situation, and that we relish more than anything at this restaurant.
